Equal and Fair Housing in Virginia

In Virginia, one in eight households spends more than half of their income on housing. Because of increased housing costs and growing income inequality, everywhere you look – cities, towns, rural communities – the stability that home should bring remains out of reach for far too many families. Blue Ridge Habitat for Humanity knows that safe, decent and affordable housing solutions play a critical role in helping families create lives filled with possibility and progress. Many of our neighbors live with the constant burden of uncertainty, stress, and fear. That should not be – and it does not have to be.

Blue Ridge Habitat for Humanity has been awarded GuideStar's Platinum Seal of Transparency—the highest level of recognition offered by the organization. Like GuideStar, we believe in providing information that advances transparency, enables our community to make better decisions, and encourages charitable giving to our organization. We work hard to ensure long-term sustainability of the organization and choose to make our current and previous year IRS Form 990 available for review.  Also, please download our yearly Community Impact Report for further details about our financial decisions and the impacts they make on our community.  Our organization operates with zero debt.
